The swimmers competed in the speed categories Penguin and Seal (neoprene), as well as in the endurance category Yoda.

As in previous years, only the supervising Tutzing water guard wore wetsuits, but some strategists slipped into a neoprene sock or gloves to go for the trophy in the understrength category.

The winners were Andreas Harting in the Penguin category, Tim Stracke in the Seal category with neoprene gloves and André Garcia in the Yoda category.

HateAid was also a winner, as we donated €100 to HateAid for each swimmer, and numerous swimmers topped up the donation, raising a total of over €2000.

Andreas Harting was able to beat Gregor Abt (last year’s winner), Matthias Aigner, Felix Hummel, Chris Furtner, Camilla Garcia, Till A. Kaestner, Eric Hall and Joachim “Jochen” Rabe in his category.

Tim Stracke surprised Katrin Eckhold and Eva Goeb-Cribb, who each wore a neoprene sock and thought they had the field to themselves.

In the Yoda category, there was a final jump-off swim between André Garcia, Jochen Eckhold and Dwight Cribb to decide the race after 10 minutes in the ice-cold water for safety reasons. The official finish time was 10:20 minutes.

Many thanks to all the swimmers and supporters, it was refreshing to see you all.
